Voldemort Filly Tops TBS Sale

Original article written by Kia Dawn posted 10 years 0 weeks ago

As every year, the Annual Trial by Summers Yearling Sale brings excitement. Those with enough cash gather around to search for, bid on, and hopefully win their new champion. Prospects are royally bred by none other than The Steward herself, who hosts yearling auctions every year as a way to get money out of the game. The first in a two part sale has just ended, bringing nearly 110 million dollars in profit.

The sale topper in this auction is none other than Dwell On Dreams, a filly by Voldemort. She is out of a Sun Raider Steward bred mare, millionaire and year 34 Broodmare of the Year, Sword and Shield. The chestnut yearling sold for 30 million to Alysse Peverell, a very predictable price, considering Sword and Shield has produced four millionaires thus far, including the great Harry Potter. All of her foals of racing age are multiple graded stakes winners.

Another impressively priced youngster was Significant other. She is by Father's Day and out of multiple graded stakes winner, Significant. Though she didn’t sell for as much as Dwell On Dreams, she did sell for a respectable $8,003,005, in which Susie Rydell was the successful highest bidder.

The lowest priced horse, Stay Soldier, went for $167,100 to Adp Racing. He was predicted to go for a little less than most, with his sire Say Dance earning $417,200 on the track. Regardless of his earnings however, he did win multiple stakes races, including a few graded stakes. His Dam was a lower money earner.

Jingle, the second lowest paid for horse sold for just over 200k. His half brother Keel sold last year for $206k, just three thousand more than Jingle.

Congratulations to everyone who got a TBS horse! We’ll see you again Week 13 for the second part of the Year 36 TBS sales
