Before we start with the exciting race I would like to introduce you to the horses that are competing in the race:
Secret Contact. He is a two year old turf miler bred and owned by Lee Cara. Secret Contact is the son of Emaraaty Ana and Gummy. He has only competed in one race before and has a best speed figure of 87.
Distanos. She is a two year old turf miler and was bred and owned by Stephen Saratoga. Distanos is the daughter of Tithanos and Distanced Death. She has only competed in one race before and has a best speed figure of 88.
She's Got Magnitude. She is a two year old turf miler bred by Jose Pryor and owned by Hope Bentley. She's Got Magnitude is the daughter of Beau and Flinders. She has only competed in one race before and has a best speed figure of 89.
Ink Black Heart. He is a two year old turf miler bred by Kris Fredemen and owned by Katie Stepanian. Ink Black Heart is the son of Nightwatch and Hundred Metres. He has only competed in one race before and has a best speed figure of 91.
Eohippus Beau. He is a two year old turf miler bred and owned by Peter Quill. Eohippus Beau is the son of Beau and Spirited Kitten. He has only competed in one race before and has a best speed figure of 92.
The horses went into the boxes and it started; right at the beginning Distanos showed a lot of speed and grabbed the front. The rest of the two-year-old thoroughbreds galloped in a group with not much distance between them. Distanos can always make more space between herself and the other horses. Eohippus Beau and Ink Black Heart are the last in the group and so the last in the long field. With the time everything pulls itself a little more apart.
Then all the horses come through the bend into the long stretch, the sprint.
Distanos is able to keep her position at the front. But the last two horses Eohippus Beau and Ink Black Heart fly forward with a lot of speed and come closer and closer to the leading horse. At the same level they overtake Distanos after some time. They duel head to head, they cross the finish line and I think a photo decides who won. In the end Ink Black Heart won by a nose.
So the horses ran into the finish line:
