A summary of W14 G1 races in a big week in the magnificent world of turf!

Starting in Egypt on Day 1 this week with the Mediterranean Stakes over 2 miles where 3yo gelding Constellation Felis (Catjam) was the winner for Brian Leavitt. A grandson of Special To You it was his first G1 win at his eighth start.

In India the Fillies and Mares raced in the Indian Challenge over a mile and a half on a soft track. The winner was 4yo filly Widow Of Love (Amor De Verano) a homebred for Karl Smythe. It was her sixth career win and first G1 win at her thirteenth start.

The Indian Classic was run over a mile and a half and the winner was 3yo colt Otherside (Don’t Forget Me) for Tim Matthews out of multiple G1 winner Set My Heart On Fire. It was his first G1 and fourth career win at his seventh start.

In Canada the Wonder Why Stakes was run over a mile and a quarter for 3yo fillies. The winner was Das Kelpie (Impacts) for David Howard for her sixth win at her tenth start. She has a companion cat named Happy.

In Asia on Day 5 the Japanese St Leger was run for 3yos over a mile and 7/8ths where the winner was 3yo gelding Their Destination (Destination Anywhere) for Stephen Saratoga. It was his third career win at his tenth start. He is a grandson of dual G1 winner Rusting.

The Kyoto Oaks was run over a mile and a quarter for 3yo fillies where the winner was Wilder Journey (Wildness) for trainer John Smith. It was her third win in a row after only winning her maiden in W9 and a nw2 last start.

The Japanese Mile was run for Fillies and Mares over a mile and the winner was 6yo mare Thundering Sound (Fearless Spirit) for Jonathan Fisher. It was her first G1 win at her twentieth start and she has a companion cat named Mystery.

Over to a very wet Europe the Dortmund Stakes was run over a mile on a yielding track the winner was 5yo gelding Spanish Sahara (Backstreet Boy) for Rebecca Rose Hepburn. It was his seventeenth career win and his eighth win in his past nine starts. He has a companion cat named Foals.

The Prix Grand Opera was run for Fillies and Mares over a mile and a quarter where the winner was 3yo filly Heaven Beside You (Amor De Verano) for Lisa Bennert. It was her ninth win at her tenth start for the $5 million Steward bred.

The Paris Grand Criterium was run for 2yo fillies over a mile. The winner was The Moment I Knew (Modern Games) for trainer Abby Brooks. It was her second G1 win and she remained unbeaten at her fourth start. She has a companion cat named Taylor.

In the Prix Jean Luc Picard 2yo filly I Have A Dream (Nightwatch) beat the boys over a mile for trainer Laura Ferguson. It was her second win at her third start and she is out of multiple G1 winner Daydreams.

The Arc de Triomphe Stakes was run over a mile and a half and won by 3yo colt Trailblazing (Shahryar) for trainer Cleo Patra. It was his seventh win at his ninth start and second G1 win. He has a companion cat named Mr Cool.

In North America the Golden Gift Stakes for Fillies and Mares was run over a mile and a quarter where the winner was 3yo filly All Shook Up (Shaken Not Stirred) for trainer Ronnie Dee. It was her sixth win at her ninth start and she has won her last five races in a row.

The Favorite Trick Stakes the first leg of the 2yo Turf Triple was run over 6.5 furlongs where the winner was Cinema (Auguste Rodin) for Cleo Patra. He takes his record to three wins from three starts and he has a companion cat named Pixel.

The 3yo fillies ran over 9 furlongs in the Queen Mother Stakes where the winner was Tearless Rf (Antton) for trainer Laura Ferguson. It was her seventh win from her ninth start and her fourth G1 win.

The Everest Stakes was run over a mile and a half with 6yo mare Shadows Of Ghosts (There There There) a homebred for trainer Tiyoun Long. It was the eleventh career win for the Stewards Cup winner and she has a companion cat named Malibu.

The Fillies and Mares raced in the Island Fashion Stakes over 6 furlongs where the winner was 3yo filly See You In Secret (Gord’s Secret) for trainer Eric Nalbone. It was her first G1 win and sixth career win at her eleventh start.

In the Petionville Stakes was run over 5.5 furlongs with the photofinish going to 3yo colt Tima (I Am Inevitable) for Matthew McMahon. It was his fifth G1 win and tenth career win at his thirteenth start and he has a companion cat named Baby Tima.

In Australia 2yo filly Cleo The Snuggler (Zog) beat the boys in the Silver Slipper over 6 furlongs for trainer Brian Leavitt. It was her sixth win at her seventh start and she has a companion cat named Cuddles.

In the Australian Valley Oaks over a mile and a quarter the winner was 3yo filly Dance By Myself (Ivor) for trainer Mr Lord Rich. It was her first G1 win and sixth career win at her ninth start. She is a granddaughter of Love For A Lifetime who won the same race in Y58.

The Cox Trophy was run over a mile and a quarter where the winner was 5yo horse Legalization (Obsidian Fury) for Ryan Whitehead for his eleventh win at his 22nd start. He is a half brother to Improvisational and Dramatisation amongst many others.
