Sneaking Off to the Shed

Original article written by The Steward posted 15 years 0 weeks ago

In an unannounced retirement befitting his legacy, Stealth Ninja has retired to the breeding shed following a shocking world record victory in the Desert Turf Classic. After an up and down career that saw 9 wins in 14 starts, owner/breeder Eric Nalbone has decided that the Ninja's career will never get any better, and has sent his star home to Dare to Dream Stud in New York.

Stealth Ninja won five straight races, including three stakes races, before showing up in the prestigious Arc de Triomphe Stakes, a race where older horses Colorado and Lorenzo d'Medici were favored. An upstart three-year-old, Stealth Ninja slipped right by them to score by two lengths.

As a four and five year old he won the Desert Turf Classic, the latter in a world record performance, earning him a 100 Speed Figure.

Stealth Ninja is by Sadler's Wells and out of the Theatrical mare Sail. He will stand for $75,000.
